Known Creature Details
Pieshu
Pronounced: Pie-shoe
Female: Doe | Male: Boe | Baby: Snoo
Pieshu are one of the few creatures to be found around Whistler Crest that are the same in the wilderness as they are in homes. There was no necessity to domesticate them as they are naturally docile and timid creatures. They prefer to laze about, cuddle and sing. They make for excellent companions because of these reasons.
Varieties with their Appearance
Pieshu come in a variety of colours and styles. Their basic body shape remains the same, but their pelt and plates determine their rarity according to collectors. One thing they all have in common is the fact that their noses, brows and armoured plates always match when it comes to colours and patterns. This is universal across all Pieshu varieties.
Breeding
Pieshu are not commonly bred in captivity. It is much more common to see young Pieshu in the wilderness. Breeding pairs mate for life, with a single pair producing one to two offspring every other year. The infants are born blind and deaf, needing constant care until they are approximately 3 months old. By this age they're able to wander around and search for food, although Pieshu live in family groups called 'Puffs', so offspring almost always remain with their parents, creating massive family groups.
Diet
Pieshu are primarily herbivores. They can ingest meats and grains, but they prefer fruits and vegetables. Sometimes a Puff of Pieshu wander into gardens, lazing around and eating the crops. They can be a bit troublesome, but since they're not particularly energetic, they often are easily picked up and moved back into the woods.
Pieshu have vents on the sides of their necks which expel the clouds of vibrant gases as a display of health and prowess.
Abilities and Skills
Pieshu have small glands on the sides of their neck that produce smoke. The smoke is unique to the Pieshu and can come in a variety of colours and patterns. Some Pieshu even produce a pleasant smell when emitting the smoke. They can also use the smoke as a distraction when fleeing from perceived predators. Pieshu are also known to sing, and they sound similar to birds, often being mistaken for them. A Puff of Pieshu can create choirs, singing happily around midday, their voices drifting far and wide. Pieshu are able to roll themselves into a defensive ball, using their plates as armour to protect themselves.
