Welcome to Whistler Crest!

Whistler Crest is a community at its core. It is an ES-ARPG founded on deviantART which centers around the growth of a newfound settlement which is inhabited by several playable species. The characters you can create are known as "evolving species," which means that over time you can grow and physically change their appearance through the use of upgrades.!

Whistler Crest is largely story-based and character driven. It's about growing together and helping one another expand the world through exploration and development. Characters play crucial roles in helping to build the world of Whistler Crest by learning magic, performing quests, getting jobs or apprenticeships and creating lasting relationships. Whistler Crest is about being connected and learning from one another, sharing experiences and growing together.

How do i become part of the community?

Whistler Crest is an open community. This means you may join at any time. Our community has been an open ES-ARPG since conception, and will remain as such in the foreseeable future. There are no requirements to join. You do not need to have an approved character to become a member. You may at any time join us, and you are welcome to enter our Discord server before you make a character if you want a feel for the community. In order to become an official member you must sign up for the Lorekeeper website, and join the Discord, which can be found below!

Create a character to explore Klaedon!

Below are the different ways to aqquire additional characters!

At the beginning, you are eligible for a set number of free MYO (make your own) characters. The number of available slots is determined by the species being created. For example, you get two (2) free Draken slots, two (2) free Nyulop slots, etc. The MYO guide for each available species will detail this further.

- At any time during your membership, regardless of how long you've been a member,you may also participate in adopts! We provide a varietyofdifferent types of adopts, and you can read u p on those here. Adopts do not take up one of your free slots and are limitless.
- If you wish to create a character of a species you no longer have a free slot of you may purchase/trade for a MYO Golden Key at Atlas's Trading Depot, Oddities & Commodities, or the Cash Shop!
  This item will permanently increase the number of slots available to you of the specific species. For example, if you want to create a third (3) Draken, using this key will mean you now have three (3) Draken slots instead of two (2)!

You are also able to breed characters to produce eggs, which hatch into official Whistler Crest characters! You can breed your own characters, or with a character belonging to another member, and these children can inherit attributes from both of their parents! Earn EXP!

You can earn upgrades by accumulating EXP and performing specific tasks (should the upgrades require them).

EXP is cumulative, never depletes and does not need to be 'spent' on upgrades. You need only to reach the required level to unlock the upgrade.

Think of it like leveling up your Pokémon to access new moves, and thanks to our custom system on LK, is completely automated, down to individual tracking and storing.

Learn Magic!

You can learn unique magic depending on the species and alignment or element of your character!

You can grow and develop the magic of your character however best fits them and you can make use of magic during quests or everyday art.
Magic is an essential part of life on Kladeon, so we encourage you to develop your skills! You can use it to help make your character all the more unique.

Join Raffles &
Events

As featured on our frontpage, we host regular events with their own released items, prompts and small plot tidbits.

Additionaly, there are sometimes raffles and contests held when the schedule allows for it, granting some free designs to the community as well as giving you direct chances to participate on new site releases (such as creating new companions, and more)!

Explore and expand on the discovered world

The Free Exploration and Expedition mechanics allow for your characters to register at the Guild Hall to form teams. Register as a solo occupant to go adventure in already explored areas in Free Exploration, or embark on a council-approved journey into the unknown on Expeditions! Will you heed the call of the wild?

Whistler Crest encourages interactivity between its members whenever possible! Be it in the Official RP Server, the main group Discord, or through collabs and events, we love to see people come together and plot! By joining events and reaching certain milestones with your characters, you can collect pogs! Pogs are purely cosmetic collections, but they document your journey and can be seen on your profile. Some Pogs, however, offer you a one time reward for reaching certain milestones!

Earn and play with many adorable pets!

Thanks to the Council's approval, several different types of sweet and cuddly pets can be bought from Remy's Pet Shop to provide your character with companionship! Sometimes during specific seasonal events, or special times of the year, Seasonal rarity pets have the chance to be aqquired through various means if youre devoted enough!
Interact with your new pet daily to build strong bonds and level up your friendship with them, and potentially earn special rewards!

Earn exciting new AP

Whistler Crest upgrades are used as a means of personalizing your character to show off their uniqueness. In fact, upgrades are referred to as Amelio Phenomena (or AP) in universe, and have cultural significance for the citizens of this world.

All of our playable species have unique species specific upgrades as well as some universal ones which they share. There are upgrades which are meant for babies and upgrades which can only be accessed by approved teenagers. Each upgrade lists all the necessary information for accessing and applying them.

Develop ideas and make your own official events!

Events take many shapes and forms in the group! We encourage our members to interact with each other, and create new memories together, and one way to do this is through the Member Events feature!

Members of the group are able to create their own events for official group holidays, or even have one thats independant of any festivities! get schooled! (Literally!)

Does your character have a thirst for knowledge? Or maybe they're wanting to learn how to read and write? Well, why dont you sign them up to take classes at the newly constructed Schoolhouse!
Classes run monthly, and have various tasks that must be accomplished in order to pass the class! Certain professions require taking classes at school, and you can even learn magic quicker than normal if you enroll in Ms. Vortea's Mana Mastery course!

Help npcs with jobs and tasks

NPCs often have tasks that they'll post in The Flowering Star that they're looking for help with! Be it simple tasks such as helping Remy de-weed his farm, lending a hand to one of the Housemasters to run errands, gathering herbs for Dane, or even larger ones such as going on minor expeditions to gather artifacts for Tobias, these make excellent busywork for the townsfolk, and a helping hand is never turned away!

Create your own tender families, or help others build theirs!

Does the thought of little paws, feet, or hooves pattering around make you feel excited about expanding your little family? Well you're in luck!
There are several ways to bring a child into the world in Whistler Crest, be it through Surrogacy, Old World breeding, or New World breeding using a passion planter! Both Old and New world breeding can have up to 5 partners contribute their mana to the development of an egg, and Surrogacy can be an option for those that dont desire a partner and simply want a child of their own, or for those that are willing to help others expand their families that otherwise cannot.

Many ways to customize your experience, and interact with the community!

The Whistler Crest website offers several ways to change your sites look on the account, be is with a snazzy custom profile using HTML, nifty icon frames to show off your favorite look, magic type, or holiday, or even changing things up on the site itself with different themes!

Set your mood with sitewide themes!

Seasons come and go, and the sites theme can change to match! While the base theme will remain the same, Seasonal themes, location based themes, holiday themes and sometimes even NPC based themes can be bought using in game currency, or earned through events or tasks!
Keep an eye out for any new themes that pop up!

Customize your icon

Want to add a bit of unique flair to your icon? Well look no further! User Borders (or Icon Frames) can help you out!
Theres many ways to earn these nifty little graphics, including buying them from NPC Shops at the Shopping District, earning them from events, or even getting them through secret ways!
